In case you didn’t know, the Calgary Society of Independent Filmmakers offers two annual workshop schedules. We have just released the newest schedule and our fall workshop programs begin next weekend on October 3!
If you would like to learn to make films, or upgrade your skills, check out the list of workshops here!
First up is Super 8 Filmmaking!
October 2 & 15
See how easy and fun it is to shoot Super 8 film during this production workshop. This first class begins with learning the basics of Super 8 camera operations and lighting. The class will then participate in the shooting of a short and simple dramatic Super 8 film. Once processed, the class will meet again to view the processed film and will be given a chance to edit the film. By the end of hte workshop, the Super 8 veil will have been lifted – no more mystery – and you will be able to shoot your own film!
Instructor: Phillip Letourneau
Cost: Members $80, Non-Members $115
Enrollment is limited to 8 participants
Registration Deadline: Wed September 30th!
*Once you’re able to shoot your own film on Super 8, check out the submission criteria for the Annual $100 Film Festival (March 4-6, 2010). Submit your film for free and if you’re selected, you will show your film in the festival and receive an artist fee for screening!*
